No Fear! Day 8 of 30 – Shake Day

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get back up” – Vince Lambordi.

Hello and good morning! Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Things were hectic for the last few days of the week going into the weekend. There were some things that had to be finished up with turning over the old house back to the landlord, and then I had to work this weekend and didn’t really have access to the internet. I didn’t forget about you, I promise! During those remaining shake days, I stuck with the nutritional plan but had to adjust and improvise on my workout routine for those days. While at work this weekend, I brought a chocolate decadence meal replacement bars…Let’s just say I was the happiest camper around. That was the first time eating this brand’s particular meal replacement bar. ..Well worth the wait of saving for an occasion where I was on the go! 😉

I know I’ve said this in my past posts, but I’m in love with the nutritional products that I’ve been using because I really like the way it makes me feel at the end of the day. It’s difficult to explain, but I feel healthier and more refreshed with the combination of shake and cleanse days.

“Never say never because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion” – Michael Jordan.

After the first week… I’m down 4-5 lbs! (144-145lbs). 🙂  What I’ve learned is to stick with a workout routine and watch what you eat. It’s all about portion control and dedication. I’m still in a little bit of a shock, this is the most that I’ve lost in a short amount of time. If I can do it, you can do it! Believe in yourself and what YOU can do. No matter the pitfalls or the experiences you’ve had in the past, don’t give up! It’s about what you do now that counts the most.  I still have a lot of work to do with regard to toning up my body during this weight loss program, but it’s still a work in progress.

Find your Passion! Day 3 of 30 – Cleanse Day.

“Whether it takes me a few months or even a few years, I WILL achieve my goal. It may come slow, it may come fast. But I will be patient” – Unknown

Hello and good morning to all!

Today is my cleanse day. This is my first time cleansing, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect. Even though it’s only noon and there’s still a lot of day left, I feel great after taking my dog on a short 2 mile run in the hot/humid/muggy weather! My poor dog’s tongue was practically flopping on the ground. But she’s my little trooper and kept up with me, not wanting to fall behind nor disappoint me. I’m proud of her, and can learn lessons about not giving up from her. She’ll be getting half an apple as a treat later 😉

The cleanse product that I have used (twice so far) has been refreshing. As a bonus..it tastes great! Berry flavor..delicious!! I’ve eaten two pieces of dark chocolate (these are part of the pack of nutritional products I ordered) earlier this morning to follow my nutritional plan for the day, and my hunger has been sustained.

“Passion is contagious. Find your passion. Life it, share it, exude it. Then watch it inspire passion in others” – Jamie Vandergrift

Someone once asked me why I started a blog about my personal fitness journey, and why I’m writing about my experiences with certain products that I’m trying. I’m only 3 days into my program and who cares, right?

Well… I want to share with others what I am passionate about. I live for and love helping people. I want to make a positive difference in someone’s life, not matter how big or small. A positive difference, is a positive difference. Whether it be motivating someone to reach their fitness or nutritional goals through this blog, or even something as simple as sharing my experiences with nutritional products that I’m trying for the first time. If i’m having amazing experiences and love the way they are making me feel, I want to share them with as many people as I can!

I’m doing what I’m doing because nothing is more rewarding than inspiring someone to go for their goals and making a positive impact on someone’s life  🙂

Mentality is everything! Day 2 of 30-day Fat burning & Cleansing Program

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become YOUR WORDS. Keep your words positive because your words become YOUR BEHAVIOR. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior become YOUR HABITS. Keep your habits positive because your habits become YOUR VALUES. Keep your values positive because your values become YOUR DESTINY” – Mahatma Gandhi

Hello and good morning! I wanted to start off and share with you one of my favorite quotes by Gandhi.

Let the fun for day 2 begin! Following the same nutritional routine as yesterday, it was another great start with the powdered product mixed with water and a meal replacement shake for breakfast. With my energy up, I finished my weight training. Again, I was a little hesitant because I haven’t done weight training in a LONG LONG time. I pushed through; however, I wanted to start slow, everyone has to start somewhere right? 🙂 I did 2 circuits of the following exercises with two 10 pound weights (20 lbs total) for about 35 minutes straight –

Circuit 1

  • Military Press: 3 sets of 10.
  •  Upright Row: 3 sets of 10.
  • Rear Deltoid Flies: 3 sets of 10.
  • Bent over Rows: 3 sets of 10.

Circuit 2

  • Military Press: 3 sets of 10
  • Upright row: 3 sets of 10
  • Rear Deltoid Flies: 2 sets of 10.
  • Overhead Tricep Extension: 2 sets of 10.
  • Arnold Press (variation of military press): 2 sets 10.

My arms and shoulders might be hating me tomorrow..Oh well! 😉

“Today is YOUR day to: Start fresh, eat right, train hard, live healthy, and be PROUD” – Bonnie Pfiester

I forgot how much fun working out in the morning can be. I feel refreshed, and ready to take on the day! I think i’m going to substitute the treadmill today for a small jog with my dog to workout my legs.

Sharing some positive vibes with everyone –

Positive Mind, Positive vibes, Positive Life! Day 1 of 30-day Fat burning & Cleansing Program

“Don’t wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect” – Zoey Sayward

Hello hello!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. Today I started my Fat burning and cleansing program (Wooooo!). As of today, here are my starting numbers:

  • Weight – 147.8 lbs.
  • Waist – 32 in.
  • Bicep – 11 in.
  • Last 1.5 mile run – 00:12:25.

My goals that I want to achieve:

  • Lose some weight, get down to 135 lbs. for starters.
  • Stomach pooch needs to go!
  • Tone up shoulders, back, arms.
  •  Lose a couple inches off waist and get down to at least 30 in.
  • Shave off seconds at a time for my 1.5 mile run.
  • Softball – Work on mechanics for outfield and first base & pitch selection for hitting from both right and left hand sides.

Phew! I have a long way to go! But I think that they’re achievable. 🙂

“It’s hard to beat a person that never gives up” – Babe Ruth

This particular program has me following this nutrition regime for 30 days –

Six days will be Shake Days with one Cleanse Day:

  • For the shake days, I am going to replace conventional meals with 2 shakes per day  + 1 healthy, low-glycemic, 400- to 600-calorie meal. (The other option is to replace one meal with a shake and have two healthy 400-600 calorie meals). I’ll also be able to have certain snacks throughout the day.
  • The cleanse day will have me taking cleansing products 4 times a day, with lots of water. (The general rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight). I’ll be able to eat certain snacks throughout the day to keep my body sustained.

This nutritional program is going to be combined with my personal workout routine:

  • Monday & Tuesday – Gym: Weight machines (shoulders, biceps, triceps), elliptical & treadmill.
  • Wednesday, Thursday & Friday –  3-4 mile run & 1.5 – 2 mile walk with dog in the evening.
  • Saturday & Sunday – Rest days, 1.5 – 2 mile walk with dog.

Day 1 thoughts:

With regards to my workout today.. Dummy me forgot that I had to finish moving the rest our stuff out from the old house. I worked on my arms and shoulders a little bit with lifting the boxes, though! ..I improvised my workout today and took my dog out for about a 1.5 mile speed walk after dinner.

At first, I was hesitant with following the nutritional guide. First..I LOVE my coffee (I do drink it black, I’ve never liked it with cream or sugar). I’m sure a lot of you can relate 🙂  This program is having me cut it out little by little. Early this morning I tried a powdered product that I mixed with water to replace coffee. It was delicious! The best thing was..that unlike coffee, it didn’t give me a feeling similar to a caffeine high that you sometimes get with coffee. I maintained the same amount of energy throughout the day.  It felt great! It’s hard to explain, but I really liked the way it made me feel throughout the day. I did 2 chocolate shakes to replace 2 meals, also delicious!  I replaced breakfast and lunch with these shakes. For me, these replacement shakes sustained my appetite until the next meal. It’s only day one and the nutritional products that I have tried so far..I’m in love with already!

“I want to Inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you I didn’t give up'” – Evan Carmichael

Good morning and Happy Saturday!

I finally have internet again! The past few days have been hectic: Closing on the new house, packing and moving. We’re still not done, but husband and I are just about finished moving everything into the new house.

My arms, shoulders, legs and back are sore from lifting for the past few days. I guess it’s a blessing and a curse in disguise! I forgot how much of a workout you get from lifting and carrying boxes up and down the stairs! 😉

On a more exciting note..I’ll be able to start a more permanent workout routine starting Monday!!

“Just Do it. Then do it again” – Nike

Another quote I love by Nike.

I stumbled across this poster, and I believe this hit the nail on the head. Discipline + your belief in yourself and your program (fitness or nutritional)  + your Attitude = Happiness.

All it takes is 22 days for something to become a habit. 22 days, you can do it!  Eventually it will become second nature. For me personally, my goals are: To tone up, slim down and lose weight. Your journey begins with one step at a time. You never know what you can achieve until you try. I’m right here with you every step of the way. Those that are in the same boat as you are with you as well. Do something everyday that gets you closer towards your goals. It may take you weeks, months or years. Whatever you do..Don’t quit!

It’s back to unpacking in the new house and finishing up moving items from the old house over.

Until next time… 🙂

Believe, Sweat, Inspire!

“Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t” – Rikki Rogers

Good morning!

I can’t believe that we’re halfway through the week already. From when I first created this blog and when I made the decision to transform into a better me, I’m down a total of 2.2 lbs. (146) from when I started! (YIKES!). This is just from running 1.5 miles every other day, walking by dog 1.5-2 miles every day, and watching my portion during meals.

“When you feel like quitting, remember why you started” – Unknown

I’ve fallen off the workout wagon dozens of time. I would lose a few pounds in the past, and then just be stuck. It was very discouraging, so I would stop that routine and do something else. Well, no more of that! Even though I’m happy with myself, I want to be happier. I want to feel confident in my own body without seeing a blob in the mirror.

The promise I made to myself –

To those that are currently on a health/wellness/fitness journey of their own, NEVER quit and Believe

Time for me to get ready to close on the new house! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a house of our own to call ‘home’! But…I’m even more excited to hurry and get everything moved in! I want to start my workout routine with my new fitness/nutritional products, and let the fun begin! 🙂

Until next time… 🙂

Run Inspired

Just do it. Even if you suck” – Nike.

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!

I don’t know why but I LOVE that quote by Nike.

As I was drinking my coffee earlier this morning, I was inspired to run. I took my running partner (my dog) and ran for 35 minutes. When I used to live in Florida, someone once asked me why I would run the distance I did and during the hottest hours of the day.

Call me crazy, I like the way it makes me feel.

This sums it up –

“The human body is capable of amazing physical deeds. If we could just free ourselves of perceived limitations and tap into our internal fire, the possibilities are endless” – Dean Karnazes

On another note, I weighed myself this morning. I’m down to 147. That’s 1.2 lb weight loss total from my starting weight. I still have a long way to go! It’s true that I haven’t started my workout routine and I won’t until we are moved into the new house. When I have a break, I keep active and  slip in a short run or walk my dog for about 1.5-2 miles every day.

No matter what workout regime you have, keep knocking it out one bit at a time. It all adds up! 🙂  If I can do it, then I know that YOU definitely can too! To everyone that is dedicating themselves to become a better them, believe in yourself and in what you can accomplish.

Back to my cup of coffee, lots of water, and packing!

Step 2: Pick a start date and workout regime!

“Everything you need is already inside” – Nike

Good morning and happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Things have been a little hectic these past few days and will be for the upcoming few days. My husband and I are closing on a house Wednesday! (Woooooo hoo!)

My days are going to sound like this –

  • Packing, packing…more packing, move to new house!
  • Slip in a small 1.5 run or walk with my dog when I have a break. 🙂

I won’t start my fitness journey until after we’re all moved in and settled. So far, this is a rough sketch of what my workout plan is going to look like once I start –

  • Monday & Tuesday – Gym: Weight machines (shoulders, biceps, triceps), elliptical & treadmill.
  • Wednesday, Thursday & Friday – 4 mile run & 1.5-2 mile walk with dog in evening.
  • Saturday & Sunday – Rest days, 2-3 mile walk with Dog.

This is will be my routine until I’m satisfied, until I’m happy with myself. This is something that I have struggled with for years. I’m 27 years old and this is now just starting to sink in. Never Forget: The most important thing to remember is that whatever fitness, health/wellness goals you have set for yourself; they are for YOU. Don’t do it for someone else, do it for you. Have confidence in your body and yourself. YOUR happiness is what matters the most.

Also, I’m going to try something new with my workout routine. I recently ordered some fitness/nutritional products to use in combination. Normally, I don’t use products; however, I’m open to try something new! A good friend of mine recommended it, and loved the way it made her feel. She’s also a fitness coach so of course I trust her with the recommendations (Love ya girl!) 🙂  I’m very excited to try these products out for myself!

Stay focused and remember why you started your fitness journey.

You’re doing it for you.
